Assurant Solutions Acquires Retail Powersports Management Group, Leading Provider of Management Training to Motorcycle Dealers

ATLANTA/DENVER:  Assurant Solutions, a leading provider of specialty insurance, extended service contracts and third-party administration services, today announced the purchase of Retail Powersports Management Group (RPM Group) of Denver, Colo., the nation’s largest and oldest provider of 20-Clubs and management training for motorcycle dealers.

RPM Group was acquired by Assurant Solutions affiliate United Services Protection Corp., a provider of vehicle service contracts and related services to the Assurant Solutions Automotive and Recreational Vehicle Services (ARVS) business.  Assurant Solutions is part of Assurant, Inc. (NYSE: AIZ), a premier provider of specialized insurance and insurance-related products and services.

Under terms of the purchase agreement, RPM Group will continue to operate its core 20-Club program and provide in-house management development programs, finance and insurance training and other dealer support services.  No management or other personnel changes are planned. RPM Group President Sam Dantzler will continue to lead the business, which will remain in Denver. Financial terms were not disclosed

“This acquisition provides us a major brand presence in an industry that we view as an important growth opportunity for our vehicle service contract and finance and insurance products business,” said Mike Anderson, president of the Assurant Solutions ARVS. “Through its 20 Clubs and other dealer training programs, RPM Group has become a respected advisor for many of the nation’s motorcycle dealerships.”

Established in 1980 as Lemco Management Group, RPM Group currently has more than 300 dealers enrolled in its 20-Club program.

Anderson said the ARVS currently offers an extensive dealership management and sales- training program for auto, RV, marine and motorcycle dealer managers and staff through its national training center in Atlanta.  “RPM Group owns several programs, including a showroom traffic management system (Traffic Log Pro), that we will enhance our current offerings as well as tie into our DealerLinx software platform,” Anderson said.
